143 Contributory Parent Visa

Overview:

If your children are Australian citizens, permanent residents of Australia, or eligible New Zealand citizens living in Australia, you may be sponsored by your children to apply for immigration to Australia. However, this option requires a higher visa application fee for faster visa processing.

 

Eligibility:

For parents of Australian citizens, permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens living in Australia.

 

Requirements:

• Eligibility requirement: Must be a parent of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen.
• Sponsor requirement: Your child must be settled in Australia (usually for at least two years) and be your sponsor.
• Family balance requirement: Must pass the family balance test - at least half of your children must be living in Australia on a permanent basis or more of your children must be living in Australia than in any other single country.
• Health and character requirements: Must meet relevant health and character requirements.
• Visa requirement: Must already hold a 173 Contributory Parent (Temporary) Visa.
