482 (Employer-Sponsored) Temporary Visa

Overview:

Applicants first obtain an employer nomination and sponsorship qualification (Sponsorship) through an Australian immigration agency, then submit an individual work visa application. The visa is divided into two categories based on the occupation list guaranteed: short-term (Short-Term Skilled Occupation List) and long-term (Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List). The short-term category has a maximum validity period of 2 years, and it does not lead to permanent residency. The long-term category, after working in Australia for three years with the same sponsoring company, allows the applicant to apply for permanent residency through the Employer Nomination Scheme (186) visa.
